The Western province is proposing to host an agriculture mini show, October this year in Munda.
The three days show is to coincide with the 2014 world food day.
The show is going to be funded by the national and provincial government through the national food security and enhancement program.
Speaking to the Solomon star from Gizo, Western provincial chief agriculture officer Samson Timi said the mini show is to promote local food security in Solomon Islands.
“The show is an initiative by the national and provincial government to promote and enhance food local foods in the country.
“Our proposed show is to coincide with the world food day; that is from 16-18th October this year.”
Solomon Islands food security has been reportedly come under threat of the climate change and rising sea level.
Governments are taking initiatives to work on mitigating measures to adopt to the continuous trend of climate change in the agricultural sector.
