TEACHERS serving under the Adventist Education Authority in Western Province attended a weeklong conference in Kukudu last week on the theme ‘Adventist School Teachers: Builders of Community.’
The conference dubbed as; ‘Western region teachers conference 2022’ was hosted by the Western Sub-Regional Education Office based in Kukudu, Kolombangara.
All teachers working within the Western Province region from Marovo to Shortlands and Choiseul were part of the training.
The overseas guest speaker was Dr David McClintock, Education Director of the South Pacific Division (SPD) of the SDA church based in Australia.
Other facilitators of the conference included the SPD Education Director, Solomon Islands Mission (SIM) Officers, Associate Education Directors, teachers, associate health directors, provincial inspectors.
The conference focused on professional development trainings.
These included School improvement plan, Subject Improvement Plan, Growth and Support Model, Classroom Management, Class Based Assessment (Range Factor) and Numeracy Teaching.
Because of the conference, Kukudu Adventist College students had a one-week break.
