Dear Editor – It is with interest that there is already a campaign against the current West Honiara MP Namson Tran.
I think to be fair; other constituencies should also investigate and come up with what they can from their lists. It is surely time we chop of corruption before it even reaches the round house. It must be now or too late.
While I agree with the fact that such registration must be dealt with by the SIEC, I think the current system of registration leaves it too open for anyone to register anywhere as long as they do not register twice.
But I would like to bring us back to the so called group West Honiara Council. What is this? A new group formed yesterday to carry out a smear campaign on behalf of a new candidate?
While I appreciate the fact that you brought to light that issue, responsible authorities are those responsible for verifying the information and taking remedial steps.
But my focus is on Tavake’s group WHC. Tavake resides at Karaina – the settlement where the current MP Namson Tran has paid off their land title using funds for the constituency.
Did any past MP paid off such a land title so that your families are not chased away from there? Well you have made a well done research to come up with those figures and data, but wait bro, don’t jump up and down in the media just yet because you have already hinted what WHC is doing and will continue to campaign for.
West Honiara brothers and sisters, keep an eye on WHC. Such groups that formed just yesterday are formed for a reason. Where were they at the start of the government term to show they are genuine? They were nowhere, so let us not fall for them. We a free to choose but not when someone tries to convince us with unsubstantiated information to ruin another person.
Tran had been showing many helps during his term as we all see and know. I warn us all that no one MP will give back most of our funds back as he did. Look at past MPs? Any new MP is going to be different? Nomoa stret!
Atleast, that was my observation and assessment of the current MP. I am not even convinced by what WHC is trying to do because it is a group formed yesterday and quits right after the election – mark my words. They have a political interest, so no thanks!
