Dear Editor – I wish to express by concern over a recent incident at the Gizo Hospital, Western Province.
On Wednesday 5th May, I was very sick and went to Gizo Hospital at around 7.30 pm.
When I arrived at the outpatient I could not see any nurse.
I asked a patient and he said, the nurse is still to arrive.
My concern is why is the outpatient being left unattended. There should be a nurse present at the outpatient to attend to sick patients and emergency cases.
I waited for about 40 minutes before the duty nurse arrived.
I raised this so that responsible officers must address such situation because such delay poses risk to lives.
