Dear Editor – I wish to add on a James Kaeso’s letter to the editor in which he posed the question ‘where is Lilo?’
Thanks Kaeso for raising a very valid point regarding the amount of serious allegations against the former PM whom at the end of the day is not found wanting in the eye of our laws.
Lilo’s fall from power is a clear case in point where people are becoming relentless in throwing allegations against him and in the end couldn’t produce an ounce of evidence as a proof.
The former PM is indeed a victim of what I would like to term as ‘cooked- up allegations’.
But I can tell you who were the very people who propagated those unsubstantiated allegations against Lilo, these people to name a few including Dr. Derek Sikua, Hon. Matthew Wale, current PM Sogavare, and few others.
These were the people who masterminded most of the unfounded allegations against former PM, Gordon Darcy Lilo.
It’s a shame that they couldn’t produce one shred of evidence against the former leader.
People of this country should now be able to dissect the truth from the false allegations. People of this country can now see the type of leaders they are.
On this note too I wish to publicly state here that former PM Lilo was one of the very few intelligent leaders we have since independence.
He’s second to none after late Ulufa’alu! I too wish him all the best as he retired from politics and leave a private life at his estate in West Guadalcanal.
