DURING this health crisis its time this nation must show and reflect on its Christian positive ways and values to our communities at this difficult period.
This was highlighted by the Chairman of the Western Provincial Disaster Operations Committee (PDOC) Jeffrey Wickham recently.
“In this challenging time, it’s time for us as a Christian nation and communities to support and show the strength of togetherness as one family unit.
“This relates to when someone feels ill and sick related to COVID-19 and other sickness, we must show support.”
He said, today many in the communities, whenever somebody is sick, they just ignore them.
“I think this is the time we need to help each other and become more united in a way to help one another in this crises hour.
“The strength of unity in our community is the way forward to overcome challenges and obstacles faced by our people.
“This is the time to show our Christian ways and behaviors and also our cultural way of supporting each other.
“But to ignore them and fail to at least give them food is not the right way.”
Wickham said when the Government does not have enough food for the whole country, it is up to everyone to find possible and helpful ways to help and feed another household who is in need.
He added there are protocols and ways required on how they can feed the people who are getting ill and sick from the COVID.
‘’The National Disaster Committee (NDC) and Provincial Disaster Operations Committee (PDOC) will always be there to support and help anyone when there is a need.
“But we must work together in mutual cooperation in trying to rebuild our attitude and thinking in these trying times.”
He appeals to the people of Western Province that they must work in hand in hand to support each other in times where Government cannot support everyone.
