The wine tasting and Art exhibition hosted by Sullivans, McGuigan Wines and SICCI was a refreshing and invigorating experience according to participants during a recent event.
Wine Connoisseur and McGuigan representative Muir Leggett ensured that the night was an informative and Captivating evening.
A total of eight different wines were tasted by event goers. The night started of with McGuigans Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and polishing off the whites was the classy and Moscato. The white wines offered a clean start to the evening.
The fleet of red wines started with its Vintage 2016, a classic fruit-driven Borassa Valley Shiraz, this wine showcases ripe blackberry and plum characters. The next followed by it’s Private Bin Shiraz 2016 where participants tasted a medium bodied wine, smooth with mocha oak and savoury tannins adding length to it’s flavour.
The third Shiraz was the 2016, Batch 16SHI#O3X1 made from wine sourced form premium vineyards within South Australia. The night ended with McGuigans brand new release Single Batch 2016 Shiraz.
The more experienced wine drinkers were intrigued by the `carefully blended Shiraz is big and full bodied capturing the attention of wine lovers. Participants learnt that the classic fruit driver Shiraz bursts with aromas of dark fruits and spice with a background notes of plum and cherry balanced with soft tennis and oak, providing a full finish.
McGuigan’s Black Label Moscato was the evening’s favourite among the younger crowd. Moscato is one fo the latest growing wine styles as it increases in popularity.
The Moscato style of wine is light and fresh with a natural freshness and is sure to be hit among younger wine drinkers.
Participants were blown away by the range of exquisite wine on offer and had the opportunity to purchase the wines after the event. The tasting was accompanied by explanations on the notes of the taste, their exact origin and the winemaking process.
The Art Society also commended the successful event and sold a total of seven paintings. Bibimauri, President of the Art Society expressed his joy at the outstanding event.
Many of the artists present also expressed their gratitude at being involved in such an event.

Sullivans plans to continue these informative events that supports local groups. The next Wine Tasting experience is aimed for October where new award winning wines will be introduced.
