A MALAITA man has described the move by the Independent Group in parliament to join the Sogavare led government as a “wise move”.
Joe Fiukwai said the decision is timely when stability is needed in the DCC government to drive the country’s development plans forward.
He said the resignation of the seven ministers last week from the DCC government has sent shock waves throughout the nation.
“The resignation of the ministers was a self-interest and motivated move, which is not done in the in the best interest of the people of country,” Mr Fiukwai said.
“To see the six members of the independent led by East Malaita MP Manasseh Maelanga crossover to the government side is a very welcoming sign for DCC and for the country as the government needs that support to be able to deliver its development plans for the country,” he added.
“I want to thank the Independent group for the courageous move to join the DCC government.”
He also congratulated his constituency member of the parliament for Baegu-Asifola David Tome for making the right move to join the DCC government.
“I want to assure David Tome that the people of Baegu Asifola constituency are behind you in this very vital move to join the government of the day and we are proud of your decision,” Mr Fiukwai said.
