A WOMAN has been remanded in custody last Friday for allegedly obtaining more than $10,000 through false pretense.
Wendy Rose Upwe’e faces three counts of false pretense involving three different victims.
The alleged incidents occurred between 24 November 2014 and 4 January this year in Honiara.
Police Prosecutor Lete Tebakota last Friday applied for a 14-day remand on grounds that the accused has no permanent address in Honiara, there is risk of re-offending and that investigation is still continuing.
Lazarus Waroka of Public Solicitor’s Office said their office does not represent Wendy.
He said at the moment the accused is not yet represented by the Public Solicitor’s Office but she can in the meantime make a request for a lawyer.
Principal Magistrate Jim Seuika granted the remand application and adjourned the matter to January 22.
