TRIAL will commence next month on the case of the woman accused of obstructing Government officers at one of the evacuation centres in Honiara during the April flood.
Linda Agooka is facing one count of obstructing government officers in due execution of their duties.
Police alleged that on September 11, this year she refused to cooperate with government officer visited the evacuation camps at the Festival Village located at Panatina, East Honiara.
Agooka was alleged to be a member of the Centre Internal Committee.
She allegedly told the government officer that they refused to work with them and to leave them alone to deal with their own issues with the government.
Police further alleged she then chased the government officers to go out of the FOPA Centre.
It was alleged that the government officers were helpless at that time and could not do much because of the obstruction.
The hearing of this case will take place in the Honiara Magistrates’ Court on December 3 to 4, where prosecution will call six witnesses.
Agooka is represented by private lawyer Leslie Kwaiga.
