THE country’s women beach volleyball team has made it into the semi-finals of the Pacific Games in Samoa.
The duo Calrose Gwali and Hannah Donga defeated a strong PNG side by two sets to nil at Apia Waterfront, Thursday.
Despite the sun’s heat the duo played their game impressively finishing off 21-12 in both sets.
They will take on Tahiti in the semi finals at 9am today.
A win for them will see them take on the winner of the semi final match between Vanuatu and American Samoa.
The grand finals will also kick off today after the semi finals.
It was a slow start for the duo following their defeat to American Samoa in their opening match.
They picked up on their next match defeating New Caledonia and then PNG, both by two sets to nil to book a semi final spot.
