Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) last Saturday received a number of the football gears from OFC to boost women football development in the country.
OFC Women’s Football and Grassroots Development Officer Nicolar Demaine delivered the gears to the SIFF Women Development officer Diane Justice at the launching of the 2015 women U16 Invitational Championship yesterday at the SIFF Academy.
Gears include; Pump, ball bags, score balls, bibs, cone etc.
Ms Demaine said the gears are delivered to SIFF under the Kirio’s program to lure more girls in the country to get involved in the football.
‘’We provide this football festival gears to attract lots of girls to try football,’’ she said.
She also revealed that they are also hoping to bring in senior excellence program.
‘’This program is basically for senior girls.
“It is purposely to provide training for talented players to get more regular training so that they are more prepared to compete in regional events.”
