The Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF) will stage an exciting tag rugby and tackle rugby coaching sessions this Saturday through their development division.
The program will be staged at the Town Ground Rugby Stadium this Saturday 30th July starting at 3:00pm.
SIRUF confirmed this to Star Sports in a statement yesterday.
“Players and teams both current and interested new ones are notified to come along and join the sessions,’’ the statement said.
“The schedule rugby field coaching sessions are part of SIRUF’s efforts to get women’s players and teams refreshed and prepared for the upcoming pre-Olympic festival that is scheduled for Saturday 6th August, as well as to get them ready for the Women’s Rugby 10s competition that will start soon in Honiara,’’ the statement added.
Meanwhile the coaching sessions will be conducted over three weekends and will include Sunday sessions starting on Sunday 7th.
“The program is free, so young girls and women from schools and communities in Honiara who wish to learn and try out tag rugby, which is similar to touch rugby, or the tackle game, are welcomed to join the proposed sessions,’’ the statement said.
For more information intending participants can contact the SIRUF office on phone 20150, or contact Augustine on mobile 8731843.
