THE Provincial Public Accounts Committee (PPAC) of the Western Provincial Government (WPG) is currently on tour to assess various Provincial Capacity Development Fund (PCDF) projects in the province.
The committee’s visit aims to ensure that all PCDF-funded projects align with the required standards and meet the intended objectives of improving service delivery and infrastructure development in the province.
During the tour, the PPAC will conduct site inspections, engage with project implementers and gather feedback from local communities on the progress and effectiveness of these initiatives.
Chairman of the PPAC and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for Ward 21, Eddie Ngava said the committee emphasised that accountability and transparency are key priorities to ensure that funds allocated for development projects are used efficiently and effectively.
“This assessment is crucial to identify challenges, successes, and areas for improvement in implementing PCDF projects,” Eddie Ngava told Solomon Star in an interview yesterday.
MPA Ngava said the PCDF assessment tour will begin from Shortland to Marovo.
Western Province has been a significant recipient of PCDF funding, with projects spanning sectors such as education, health, water supply and public infrastructure.
The committee’s findings will contribute to future decision-making on resource allocation and project implementation strategies.
The PPAC tour is expected to continue over the coming weeks and a report will be compiled and presented to the provincial government for further review and action.
