THE Western Province Investment Cooperation (WPIC) for the first time in over 10 years has finally completed and handed over its financial reports last Friday to the Premier of Western Province at the Premier’s office.
Premier David Gina received the report as the organisation’s Chairman.
The completion of audit reporting was done by the help of the Internal Auditor, Obri Talasasa and Raphael Tepano from records in the 2011 to 2019 reports.
According Western Province Investment Cooperation Manager Douglas Alex, it took the auditors five weeks to complete the auditing.
Speaking to Solomon Star Gizo, Mr Douglas said that this marks a milestone in the history of WPIC in over 10 years.
“The reports covers accounting periods from 2011 up to 2018, this millstone is an achievement of this government and the current WPIC management.
“It took five weeks for the independent auditors to complete the audit report and handed to the Chairman on Friday 11th,” he stated.
He further added that this audited report will be tabled in the next Assembly meeting in March 2020 after the AG (Auditor General) qualifies the report.
The Western Province Investment Manager also thanked the WPIC Chairman, the two auditors for their hard work although it took so much time before completion.
