NATIONAL squad member Abid Hussain was disqualified from the Srixon Cleveland Fiji Amateur Stroke Play Championship at the Natadola Bay Championship course on Sunday.
This is after Hussain signed off his card with a wrong score.
National Golf Association of Fiji secretary Amitesh Chandra in consultation with Golf Australia made the decision to disqualify Hussain for the breach.
According to Amitesh, Hussain scored seven on the par four third hole, but entered six on the card.
Amitesh said Mohammed Rizwan was also disqualified for failing to sign his score card.
Suva’s Olaf Allen Junior holds a one stroke lead going into the final 27 holes today.
Allen Jr scored 15 over par 122 in the first 27 holes yesterday. Zoheer Ahmed is second on 123 followed by Anuresh Chandra on 124.
The tournament doubles up as the national team’s championship.
Amitesh said the disqualifications had made the title race for the team’s championship tighter. The final round will tee off at 9am.
