AS part of the Children’s Sabbath programme organised by the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church last weekend, Adventurers in Gizo, Western Province, have walked through the town to share God’s word and love to other kids during a walk through the town on the Sabbath.
The event was organised as part of the church’s yearly programme.
Other Adventist churches in Gizo and around the country also organised their own programmes.
During the programme, the Children’s Ministry was responsible to conduct most of the programmes in their own churches.
The children, mostly Adventurers from one of the churches in Gizo, prepared flyers which contained two statements “Jesus Loves You” and “Jesus Died for You” plus more than 20 plastics containing small tokens to give to other kids.
During the afternoon programme, they walked through Gizo town where the little ones met other kids, shook their hands, told them that “Jesus loves them” and handed over the small tokens.
Leaders of the young Adventurers said the event was to mark the Children’s Sabbath and to teach the children to share and also develop the confidence to reach out to other children and tell them about the love of Jesus.
There are other children who may be in need and it is important reach out to them as well, the leaders highlighted.
Most of the children who received the gifts were thankful.
Despite the unfavourable weather condition last Sabbath, the children were able to hand out most of the tokens to other kids that they met along the street. After distributing the gifts, they returned and reported to the church.
