Two young artists will depart for New Caledonia on Friday to participate in a three months Art and Cultural exchange in Indonesia.
The duo, Lucy Ann Panda and Jackson Diosi will be among 100 artists from 50 countries to learn and showcase their talents.
Ms Panda who started art work at a very early age said it was a great opportunity for her to expose her talent with other young artists from other countries.
“As an artist I believe that my participation in this three month exchange programme will build my capacity to improve my skills particularly in visual arts,” Ms Panda said.
She said, in Solomon Islands there are a lot of talented artists and she is proud to be one of them.
“From my participation I hope to return and help others to improve their skills in art.”
Mr Jackson Diosi added that their participation in the three month program will equip them to return home and start doing positive things in terms of visual arts.
“Being an artist is a talent that cannot be wasted so such an opportunity is a great privilege for me to learn and promote the type of art in Solomon Islands.”
The trip was dubbed as timely for the artists as the country prepares to the host the Melanesian Arts festival in July.
The duo are expected back in June.
