SOLOMON ISLANDS young tennis players were impressive in the recent Vanuatu Regional Junior Tennis championship held in Vanuatu.
The young tennis players finished in the top three spots in all three categories of the U10, U12, and U14 category for both girls and boys.
For the U10 boys, Junior Kennedy and Andrew Sanga finished top in the doubles while Maelyn Bird and Jen Tahunipue finished second in the girl’s U10 category.
Justice Justus and Fisher Waita finished second in the boys U12 doubles and Junior Mae finished third in the boys U14 category.
Morginah Mae and Margarette Agi finished second in the girls U12 category.
For the singles, Maelyn Bird finished top for the girls U10 category and Junior Kennedy finished top in the boys U10.
The results will help improve the athletes’ seeding through the International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournaments.
The team is led by coach Henry Mae and assistant Jessica.
