The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has praised the young U14 and U12 futsal teams for their ‘impressive’ achievement at the State Futsal Championship in Australia.
The U12 boys won the competitions U12 category while the U14 team finished on third place yet another big achievement described by the SIFF secretary general, Neil Poloso during his brief welcome and congratulatory speech yesterday.
Poloso said the teams’ victories not only made their families and clubs proud but SIFF as well – the main football body in the country.
“Your victory at the end of the day puts SIFF up there.
“Any positive achievement made by the 11-aside, beach soccer or the futsal code gives pride to SIFF.
“For that I would like to thank you on behalf of the SIFF president for your achievements,” he said.
He also made assurance to the youngsters that SIFF will continue to render support to young futsal teams.
Pastor Nacanieli Seru of the Solomon Islands Sports Coalition (SISC) echoed the same sentiments and thanked both teams for their good behavior.
He said he had heard compliments from Dural Sports in Australia that the U12 and u14 players have been a blessing during their time in Australia and they have been good ambassadors.
The Solomon Islands U14 and U12 Futsal squad returned home yesterday to a warm welcome upon arrival by families, friends, sponsors, members of the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) and supporters.
Pastor Seru also thanked all sponsors, SIFF, Hatanga and the Government for their support one way or the other which helped to be part of the team’s success.
