Youths attending a week-long trauma and stress training at Catholic Church in Tanagai West Honiara have acknowledged the training.
At the same time they urged the ministry of peace and reconciliation (MOPR) to organise such training in communities that have high rates of social problem.
Spokesperson Alfred Luiramo, 30, a youth leader from Wind Valley who attended the training said such training should be organised in other communities in the city and other rural communities as well.
“While I acknowledge this training, I kindly request the ministry to organise similar trainings to other rural communities because its very important for them.”
“There are communities which have high rates of social problems. I believe the topics and issues we have covered would be helpful and good for them as well,” Mr Luiramo said.
The youth leader thanked the ministry for organising the training.
“I’m so thankful and happy to attend this training and hope to attend it again.
“Its very helpful to me. When I go back to my community can share it with other members of the community,” he said.
The training ends today.
