This month’s youth market set for next week is expected to showcase an explosion of young talent.
This time a dance competition based on this market’s theme – ‘Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders’– will be the highlight.
The dance competition will be based on three different categories.
A statement from the organisers said some of the dancers are already excited about shaking up the event.
“Our group can’t wait to participate in the dance competition,”said an excited dance competitor, Edward Pwaiouou. “We are thankful that youth market provides us a platform to display our talent.”
In addition, there is also a song competition based on the next youth market theme.
Application forms for stalls, entertainment and competitions are available at the Youth@Work office, National Art Gallery and can also be downloaded from our Youth Market Facebook page. Applications close on 10 August.
Youth market is an initiative of Youth@Work and it provides an avenue for young entrepreneurs and musicians to showcase their products and talent.
“It’s going to be a good show and I want all the youth in and around Honiara to come and show their support,” said Jeeno, a local popular talent who will also be performing on Friday 15th of August.
Youth@Work is implemented by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) with the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, Industries, Labour and Immigration and the Ministry of National Unity, Reconciliation and Peace. It is funded by the Australian Aid Program.
